Major General Agha Masood Akram (retd)

About the Director General

General Masood was commissioned from Pakistan Military Academy Kakul in 1982 and joined a mechanised battalion of the Frontier Force Regiment. He has been instructor at the Pakistan Military Academy and the Command and Staff College, Quetta. As captain he remained on the staff of an infantry brigade deployed in Azad Kashmir and brigade major of an infantry brigade. As a lieutenant colonel at the Military Operations Directorate, as a brigadier chief of staff of a corps and Chief Instructor of Command and Staff College, Quetta. The general has also served as Director General Defence Export Promotion Organisation.

He has served in a mechanised battalion in Somalia (UNOSOM-II), commanded a mechanised battalion, a Mujahid battalion deployed on the Line of Control, a mechanised brigade, an infantry brigade deployed in North Waziristan (OPERATION AL MIZAN) and a mechanised division.

He is a graduate of National Defence University Islamabad, Command and Staff College, Quetta and Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, USA.
